They Were Done Being Quiet, So They Blew The Whole Thing Up

They Were Done Being Quiet, So They Blew The Whole Thing Up

There's a point where silence stops being an option. The Skanks hit that point, and Turn is what came out the other side.

Raw, unfiltered, and built on the kind of tension that doesn't resolve so much as detonate, Turn tears through questions of faith, betrayal, and a system that chewed people up and expected gratitude. This isn't rebellion as posture, it's rebellion as reckoning. The track locks into a relentless groove that sits somewhere between post-punk fury and garage-grunge grit, with a chorus that lands like a fist through drywall.

"Fuck the system yeah / and then don't you go 'round and turn in," that's not a slogan. That's a survival instruction.

For fans of Nirvana, The Pixies, and Rage Against the Machine.

Turn up. Don't turn in.

Biography

The Skanks deliver raw garage rock at full tilt, all clattering rhythms, pounding guitars, and lyrics that are howled, not spoken. Think rusty nails jutting from every beat, with little concern for polish or perfection. Formed in 2021 in the once-industrial city of Pori, where shuttered factories now loom over rising unemployment and fading opportunities, the band was born out of a reunion between childhood friends Jesse and Andy. What started as a noise-making catch-up quickly grew into something more when Simo, a drummer from a nearby town, jumped in. Now, The Skanks are out to spread no-frills rock and roll with a rough edge and old-school attitude, nothing fancy, just loud.

The Skanks are:

Jesse - Guitar/Vox
Andy - Bass
Simo - Drums
