“Monster” Hits Like a Brick: Norway’s Wildest Punk Collective Just Drew Blood

Bergen’s underground lifers Scampi Chips Dip & Campari return with “Monster,” a blistering second single that doesn’t ask for your attention, it takes it.

Following the cathartic charge of “Let Go,” this new track shifts gears into something far more confrontational. “Monster” is stripped down to its rawest elements: pounding drums, jagged guitars, and vocals that don’t sing so much as accuse. The repetition isn’t just a hook, it’s a weapon. Every shout of “monster” lands harder than the last, turning the song into a relentless call-out you can’t escape.

At its core, “Monster” targets the kind of people who overstep, overwrite, and dominate, those who slowly erode boundaries until nothing feels like yours anymore. The lyrics don’t dance around it. They push forward, direct and unapologetic, forcing the confrontation head-on.

Musically, SCDC stay true to their DNA, gritty, sweaty, and rooted in the raw traditions of garage punk and post-punk resistance. There’s no polish here, no soft edges. Just tension, noise, and release. It’s the sound of a band that has spent years in cramped venues and chaotic spaces, refining a style that thrives on immediacy and impact.

Fans of Bikini Kill, The Slits, Amyl and the Sniffers, and The Runaways will feel right at home in the chaos, though SCDC carve out their own lane with a colder, sharper Scandinavian edge.

“Monster” is the second glimpse into their long-awaited debut album, rumored to be titled WELL, IT AIN’T FASTFOOD. If this track is any indication, the record won’t be subtle, it’ll be confrontational, unfiltered, and impossible to ignore.

Scampi Chips Dip & Campari aren’t here to play nice.
They’re here to call it out.

Biography

Scampi Chips Dip & Campari (SCDC) is a four-piece punk force from Bergen Norway, featuring Hanne Maren Meldahl (bass/vocals), Maiken Andreassen (guitar/vocals), Marit Antonsen Tjugum (drums/vocals), and Karoline Skuseth (keys/vocals). Between them, they’ve logged time in more Bergen underground bands than most scenes could handle, including MT Six, Disdain, Tafatt, Hindenbürg Rock & Grill, and The Wednesday Knights. With over 50 shows under their belt, from a chaotic, unforgettable tour of China to a wind-machine-assisted main stage slot at Kanalrock, SCDC speaks a universal language of distortion, sweat, and pure punk energy. Back on the road over the past two years, they’ve torn through venues across Norway, from Vill Vill Vest to Rockeklubben in Porsgrunn, leaving ringing ears and fresh booking requests in their wake. In a scene that still pushes women out as life gets louder, SCDC pushes back. They stand for punk as stubborn joy and survival, not age or gender. After a cassette EP, they’re now gearing up for a full album, aiming to bottle the same raw intensity that keeps stages, big and small, on the brink of collapse.

SCDC is:
Scampi (Hanne Maren Meldahl) - Bass and Vocals
Chips (Maiken Andreassen) - Guitar & Vocals
Dip (Marit Antonsen Tjugum) - Drums and Vocals
Campari (Karoline Skuseth) - Keys and Vocals
