"Being Eddie": Netflix's new documentary about the iconic Eddie Murphy

Netflix has announced that “Being Eddie,” the new documentary about iconic comedian and actor Eddie Murphy, will begin streaming on the platform on Wednesday, November 12.

The film is directed by two-time Oscar winner Angus Wall.

“It goes without saying that there is only one Eddie Murphy. No other young comedian has shared the stage with Jerry Seinfeld at 17 and joined the cast of “Saturday Night Live” straight out of high school,” the official synopsis reads, adding: “No actor has ever played a cop, a doctor, and a donkey while simultaneously mastering every aspect of the Hollywood industry he touched. Fewer still have managed to remain a front-line celebrity for over four decades without ever succumbing to the dark side of fame.”

“Being Eddie” explores the unusual combination of explosive charm, single-minded ambition, raw talent and deep-rooted prudence that put Murphy in a class of his own.

The documentary features appearances by Arsenio Hall, Brian Grazer, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Jamie Foxx, Jerry Bruckheimer, Jerry Seinfeld, Tracee Ellis Ross and Tracy Morgan, among others.

The production is signed by John Davis, John Fox, Charisse Hewitt-Webster, Terry Leonard and Kent Kubena, as reported by Deadline.
