Malvina Announce European Tour Dates With Glass Wipe

Malvina, one of the most energetic Brazilian hardcore bands, has announced the dates of the shows they will perform in seventeen European cities starting on September 18th. The tour begins in Prague, Czech Republic, and ends in Berlin, Germany.

This will be their debut in Europe, where the band is preparing to explore and present their sound that mixes hardcore, metal and progressive with political lyrics to Europeans. Malvina will be accompanied by the Finnish band Glass Wipe. Malvina has already performed shows alongside Discharge, Agnostic Front, Ratos de Porão, Crypta, Dead Fish, Mukeka di Rato, Garotos Podres and Inocentes.

"Thanatos", one of their most recent singles, was released in July 2023 by Xaninho Discos, and has received good repercussions both nationally and internationally. It entered the Punk Rock Museum's radar, received special coverage in Poland by IDIOTEQ, Circle Pit in the US, Thoughts Words Action in Croatia, Punk Roquette in Canada, and Andrezza Barros in Brazil, among others.

Their latest release, "The Backward Elite", is based on the book "A Elite do Atraso" by Jessé Souza, who also praised the band's work.

Malvina was born in Rio de Janeiro/Brazil and its main influences are hardcore punk, progressive and metal, which explains the sound developed over the years.

The trio has 2 albums and some EPs released. The latest album, 'Hybrid War', released in April 2019, was distributed by several labels in Europe, the United States, Canada, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Turkey. The album addresses the process that led to the 2016 Coup, the destruction of national industry and the rise of the far right in Brazil.

The band is based on the concept of 'Hybrid War', developed by political analyst Andrew Korybko, who praised the band's latest work, sharing it on his social networks. The album reached some of the Best of 2019 lists on websites specializing in hardcore punk around the world, and reached seventh place on the list of the 100 best albums of the year on the biggest website in the genre, the
Skatepunkers.

Malvina was invited by the Italian label Inconsapevole Records to be part of the compilation album 'Punk Rock Against War Vol.II', which allocates the funds raised to an NGO that cares for war victims in Europe. The collection featured big names in global punk-hardcore such as Propagandhi, Samiam, Strike Anywhere, Ten Foot Pole and Farside.

Press Quotes:

"This is the type of album you could start a riot with. And then riot for the whole duration of it."
- Sound the Sirens Magazine (Australia)

"This progressive punk album comes with a strong social and political commentary that draws on the concept of “hybrid warfare” to shed light on some recent key events in Brazil."
- The Circle Pit (USA)

"Very intelligent punk rockers and it’s more than clear they’re aware that global cannibalism called capitalism is the main factor for the ruination of their country. Music is a combination of various styles, but mainly it’s a very complex skate punk rock played with a lot of technical melodic structures accompanied with amazing bass lines and great drumming. Malvina are giving their best to express anger through fast tempos, hardcore punk riffs and melancholic arpeggios which are present throughout whole record and judging by the sound they succeeded in their aim to express their true feelings about current situation in Brazil and impress all the lucky ones who had a chance to listen to their latest album."
- Thoughts Words Action (Croatia)

"In musical terms, the Brazilian combo serves a varied mix, the influences of the band ranging from Bad Religion to Megadeth, creating a progressive hardcore "in an anarchic structure," as they themselves explain."
- Underdog Fanzine (Germany)

"Hardcore Malvina shine a light on Brazil’s social and political crisis in their new album."
- SA Music News (South Africa)

"Malvina is a band that possesses their own sound and became masters at executing it with the years. The album Hybrid War is the proof of it and I would urge anyone to give it a try. Being from Brazil, I am not sure if I will ever get to see this band live, but I sure hope someday they come over in North America."
- Punk Rock Avenue (Canada)
